In case you did not receive the April 6 e-mail from Elite regarding yard signs, here is the text:
It's that time of the year again.....already! Time for the annual Monticello Parke Yard Sale. This year it will be held on Saturday September 18th from 8AM to 2PM. This date corresponds with the Jeffersontown Gaslight Festival so there will be a lot of traffic in the area. We will place an ad in the Courier-Journal for this event and if you participate we would appreciate a $5 donation to help defer the cost. Marita Semones will visit all participants during the day to collect so please watch for her. If you plan on participating we would appreciate your taking a minute to answer the survey elsewhere on this page. This will give us an idea as to how many to expect and we can also use this information in our ad.
House Numbers on mail boxes
If you need to replace the white vinyl numbers on your mail box you can purchase a package
of assorted numbers and letters from Meiners-Jeffersontown Hardware. Home Depot, Lowes and other hardware stores may have them as well but white numbers/letters are usually hard to find.
Trash Containers & Litter
We ask that all residents to please keep their trash and recycle containers out of sight on those days when pickup is not scheduled. We also ask that you pick up litter from the street in front of your home or sidewalk. We are the only ones who can keep our neighborhood looking beautiful. Please use plastic bags for garbage and recycling. This helps keep loose debris from blowing onto the streets and yards when the containers are emptied.
Water those trees
The trees in front of your home near your mailbox are your responsibility. Please be sure to give them a long drink of water during these long dry summer days. If they die because of your neglect you will have to pay for replacements.

We have had some very interesting articles in the past and we hope to continue with more in the future but we need you to help.
