Neighborhood News

                                                                               December 4, 2011

At this time of the year we turn our attention to friends and family and celebrate the Christmas Holiday Season.  We wish our Monticello Parke family all the best during this season and pray that everyone has a blessed Christmas and a bountiful year to come.

Heads Up

Christmas Lights - We continue to have trouble with the Christmas lights at the subdivision entrance.  Rain causes the center island lights to trip the GFI and the photo sensor that controls the lights on the shrubs on the long wall needs to be replaced.  That is why the lights on the long wall bushes  stay lit 24/7.  Both of these problems have been reported to Elite.  Please be patient as we are doing the best we can with what we have.

Outside water faucets - Be sure and disconnect water hose from all outside faucets before frigid weater freezes them.  Also turn off the water supply to these faucets with the shut off valve inside your house that supplies water to those faucets.

Litter - It would appear that some people from another neighborhood, who use the main entrance to our subdivision are jealous of our neighborhood beauty and choose to toss trash  out their car/pickup truck window. This is sad and nothing we can say or do will stop such childish behavior.  If you care about keeping Monticello Parke clean and beautiful, then please take the time to stop and pick up litter when you see it.  Marita and I have personally picked up trash from the main entrance over the years and hope that you will too.  It only takes a moment and you will be glad you did.  The below picture was taken on November 18th as we were decorating the front entrance.  All of this trash was in the center island.  This is a sad commentary on how trashy some people can be.

Traffic on Mulberry Row Way - Our main street is very busy and speeding is a problem.  As a suggestion, if a resident on Mulberry Row Way would contact our Metro Councilman, Stuart Benson, he can advise on the process to have speed humps installed.  Mr. Benson can be reached at 502.574.1120.

Pets - Some people still have not got the message that it is their responsibility to pick up after their pets.  It is simply rude to let your pet do its' business in someone elses yard.

Parking - Parking on the streets in Monticello Parke is not allowed except for special occasions such as when you have company or overnight for one or two days maximum.

Lawns- When you moved into Monticello Parke you are expected to maintain your lawn and home in a respectable manner.  Please mow your lawn and kill your weeds so as to to not encroach into your neighbors property.

Trash bins - Bins are to kept out of sight except on trash pickup days.  Nobody likes to look at your trash bins.

Campers, boats and trailers - These vehicles are not permitted to be stored in your driveway or on the street except for short periods of time.  They must be kept in your garage of stored off site.
